Well I'm back from break, and I got my new sled. Guess what, Its not a Polaris, and not an XLT!!, its a CAT!!!
The story goes like this. I went to get the 95 XLT way up in VT, but after I got it on the trailer I got some bad vibes when I found it had 2000 more miles on it than I thought, and that one of the tie rod ends was falling off. I decided to pass it up. When my dad and I picked up the two Saffaris at the Marina where they were being serviced for the season, we found an 89 Cougar 500 with 2200 miles, Reverse, full instrumentation, warmers, etc. It's in good shape, and $1800, so we took it home. So we have our 3 sleds, but instead of joining the Polaris Family, I joined the A/C family. Wierd. I'm still a Dooer at heart. I'll post pictures when I develop them!

It was a tough call not getting the XLT after months of expecting to. The overall condition of the sled was not quite what I expected, and to have an obvious problem like steering go unnoticed didnt give me much faith in the owners' word that he had done all the proper maintenance and stuff that would ease my mind about nearly 7000 miles. I'll still keep my eye out for new sleds, but for now I'm happy to have three, and the Cougar was a great buy, especially considering its from a dealer, and I know that if I have any problems, they will stand by the sled. They even offered to take back it for something else if we're not happy with it, so I think it will be a good sled.
