i took these from video. the video is from practicing on a woodchip track for snocross today. the first pic is of the pro-veteran champion mentioned in this topic http://www.snowmobilefanatics.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=56653
by Sickler. that's Sickler himself standing basically under the guy as he went big clearing this tabletop (click to enlarge pics)

here are a few pics of me. the first is taking a double. the others are going over the tabletop. that thing is quite intimidating.

more pics to come soon.

here are a few videos of me going around.

one of my better runs around the track. i was pretty sore and tired by this point though.

going over some doubles.

and this is my first attempt at this set of double/doubles. came up short on both, but not too bad for my first attempt.

here's a certain 14 year old kid showing me how it's done. although to be fair to myself, he's been doing this for several years and today was the 3rd time i was ever on a track.

it's mostly wood chips actually. on that track there are a couple of water holes that you run through. it splashes water up on the heat exchangers. you can't run it forever, only a handful of laps depending on how wet it is. gets very dirty. on a track with no water holes you use a hose, stop every couple laps and hose down the heat exchangers. then after it gets heated up you let it sit for a while.

Pretty fun! I would like to go do some pre-season warming up on a track like that.

One thing I noticed on the 1912 file, is when you jumped it looked like you leaned back and got out of shape. That will throw you off and unsettle you every time. One thing about these sleds is you gotta lean forward and keep your weight forward. Also once you get more comfortable you won't think of it as a battle between you and your machine. You will think of it as you versus the track, and your machine will become an extension of your body and controlling it with throttle/brake/leaning will become second nature. You can easily ride like the 14 year old in the video once you know your machine and are comfortable with being in the air :)
