My father in law just picked up a 97 AC Z440. Its fan cooled, has 2100 miles, 96 studs, and 6 in carbide runners. Sled appears to be in mint condition. Track, tunnel, seat, suspension, chassis, engine, clutches all look good. He picked it up for $2600. I told him it sounded like a pretty good deal to me.

My question is does anyone have any experiences with this sled. I really don't know anything about AC's. Good points, bad points, things to look out for???

I think you'll find this sled to be quite a nice sled. Nothing special to watch out for, that I know of. Just keep up with the normal PM and such and remember it's a fan 440 and not a liquid 800 and he should get many nice miles out of it.

Thanks for your input ACMan. I think he's going to like it. The last sled he ever rode was an early 90's Safari 377, so he'll feel as if he's in 7th heaven. [:D]
