Alright, so those that have seen my previous posts know that I have a 96 XLT RMK. It has the SLP airbox and the foam filter is gone completely.

Any one think that I'll cause issues by modifying the opening to fit a K&N in there rather than sourcing foam (which is proving to be kinda difficult to do)?

I would stay away from K&N air-pod filters. They suck in warm under-hood air, when everyone knows colder air makes more power. Leave the airbox, and look into something like part number 14-160 in the link

that should be big enough to cover the three openings in your airbox, you would just need to find a way to attach it to the airbox.
