hey guys do you know what the stock turns are from my 92 xcr w/ 38mm carbs? i wana tweak it a bit i was reading a couple forums that said some adjustment here can clean up some of that low end bog.. any ideas?

1.5 turns out from lightly seated..I wouldn't go any more than 2 tho max.

its prolly more like 1 turn out. i know in 93 the xcr 440 with vm38ss carbs this is the spec. i wouldnt think a year would make much difference

I would start by turning it 1/4 of a turn in and testing , and then keep turning until the bog goes away. If you end up with the screw all the way in with no improvement, you either need a larger pilot jet or need to clean the pilot jet and passages... If you go out 1/4 of a turn and it's more than 3 turns out, you could try a smaller pilot jet. Usually, low end bog is because of a lean condition, and turning it in a bit solves it pretty quickly...
