well. after working on are project sled for about a month now we got ever part we need and everything mounted where it needs to go. the only 2 problems we have is we don't know if were going to be able to find a belt that is going to work and we still have to make an exhaust.

You shouldn't have too much of a problem finding a belt. There's so many different sizes that I would think you would have a few choices to choose from. But, from the looks of it, that exhaust is not going to be fun to make, thats an awfully tight space you have to work with.

yeah we have been thinking about it were going to have to build something are self so it's gonna rob hp but it is still gonna be an insane sled. were gonna try and run a modified single pipe.

why not take it to simmone cpr or hauck performance or someone when its done and have them make you a custom pipe. if it was me i would spend the anywere from $700-1200 getting a pipe or pipes made for it. would gain some hps instead of loosing....just my opinion... but looks like a crazy cool build...post some pics if you got any more progress[thumb]

Single pipes cripple triples, don't do it!!!!

Finding a belt won't be difficult at all, just measure center to center on the clutches, and find a belt that matches.

When you put a single pipe on a triple engine, the timing doesn't work very well.. The exhaust gas doesn't have the time to empty the expansion chamber before the next pulse hits, and it interferes with the harmonics.

At low RPM the effect isn't so bad. But at high, like 8,000 RPM, that's 24,000 exhaust pulses per minute (400 per second) for a triple vs. 16,000 per minute for a twin (267 per second).

You also have the effect with twins but not nearly as bad.. But if you pay attention, every hardcore race sled has 1 pipe per cylinder, no matter the number of cylinders.

oh yes i know that, thats why all 6 of our triple drag sleds have triple pipes. i thought you said "single pipes, criple pipes" which had me confused. nothing beats the sound of a triple with a set of mod jaws pipes on it.[thumb]

well im not working with all of space so im not sure whats going on yet. and i really think we have no choice.
Expect a 30% or more loss in HP going to a single pipe.

You'd probably be better stuffing a twin in there if you're going to use a single pipe.
