There has already been one fatality in my area.. on the weekend, 20 yr old. Read in the paper that the sled rolled and crushed his helmit. Riding alone. by the time anyone found him it was too late...

Thats terrible!!! Not somethign I want to come across on my ride.. not at all.

A sled crushed his helmet? Arent helemets supposed to stand up to that kind of force or not?

This one was near Selkirk.. in the ditch appretenly.
You wwoudl think they are built to stand or hope to.. but dont know how it landed on the guy.. i guess no one will know what really happpend.. but not good either and rigth around christmas too.. thats even worse for his family

I herd it was just off netly's creak in the ditch going to get somehting from his buddies? but anyways my condolences to his family.

a kid was killed about 30 minutes from where i live. i guess he was riding without a helmet and ran into one of the guide wires connected to a hydro pole. he was only 15. i heard about it all on the radio. it happened around ste.rose area here in manitoba if any of you know where that is.
