I was searching craigslist tonight when i came across this ad.

I'm tempted to scrounge together some cash to pick the Cat up. I read about them in a article in Snoegoer, and its pretty interesting. I was just wondering if anybody has one, or even seen one and whats your thoughts on them.

A 100 mph??? I dont think so, probably 50 would be closer.

pretty rough shape for $200 IMO

Seats are usually one of the most $$$ parts of a vintage sled.

In the condition it's in I'd give him maybe $75 tops. The seat for that would probably cost a pretty penny because it's brown instead of black and the VIP was made for only one year. I bet another Panther seat would work on it, but it wouldn't look right.

They are heavy SOB's and no way that thing will do 100mph unless you ran it off a cliff. No way that JDX6 would do 80 either. Both of those sleds look like they have been sitting for quite a while, too. He doesn't say how long ago he parked them.

There were 73's & 74 Vip's the in 73 there were only 6 & like 4000 in 74,Mine is a 74, Plenty of storys online about how they are HEAVY & Doggy-way under powered,A toilet so to speak. But if it's a 73 I would consider it.
