I am converting a 94 Polaris storm to asphalt 1/4 mile , stock motor, rpc pipes and can, 15x121 track, converted xtra 10 susp with wahl bros stuff , can someone help me with a starting point for clutching and gearing? I also posted this to the racing forum, new member im not sure which forum is correct. thanks

start low with gearing and work your way up, start with a clutching that gets you to your right rpm, work your way down on jetting. once you have a good base line for jetting then start changing clutching and gearing.

gear as high as you can without hurting acceleration.

I started way too high. I have the same sled with alot of porting 48mm carbs and I think 22-37 is going to be close. Initially I was running 9000 r's which is 1000 low for it , with 23 32.gearing...still managed 9.9 at 135.. curious to see how my changes pan out..
