Hi, i just ran my 1993 lynx mountain cat 340.After doing the normal stuff after it's been sitting for a while. I changed out the fuel lines, replacecd the fuel pump, spark plugs, new gas,oil and cleaned the carb twice.

it ran for a bit but shut off after moving about 2to 3 feet. The only time it moved more than 2to3 feet it stopped and then backfired, now it won't start again after trying everything i could think off.

Any Ideas?? [?]

a major back fire can break the fuel pump diaphram. so the pump wont pump. but it will leak into the engine by the pulse line. are the plugs wet when it wont start?

pull the pulse line off the crank case and see if it has gas wanting to drip out of it. if not. treat it like a flooded engine.

Replace the plugs. It seems as if when ever I've had a backfire after building an engine, I change out the plugs because I've never gotten them to start if I don't. Many times after 1 pull, it's running again.
