Hey Ya'll

I have for sale, a 98 440 VES Polaris Edge. It was the first VES motor, liquid cooled and is in the beefed up race chassis. I got it from the impound in 2008 for my wife to ride, and of course she wanted a blue one. I did a lot of searching and found a blue hood, belly pan and seat all in great shape! got it all together and now she is not interested in riding. SOOOOOO time to sell it!

compression = 150lbs per cylinder
no rips in seat.
1" track in great shape
ready to ride!

First $1300 takes it! my hard work is your gain!

email me at [email protected]
or call before 8pm, Matt at 218.851.5510

Thanks!

Just a note to the seller and potential buyers:
The motor is a 1998 440 Liberty VES, the chassis is not. (No edge in 1998).
i assume the chassis is a 2001 xc 500 or 600, since that 440 motor would bolt right in. 2001 xc's were the only sled to offer that the blue metallic flake color

EDIT: i didn't read the whole OP the first time, disregard my first post.
good price for the edge chassis, where is the sled located?
150 pounds of compression seems way high for a 440... or does it have high compression heads?

For all the are interested. The 440 motor was a race motor. I have gone through it all and it runs on pump gas. I set the sled up for my wife to ride, I would not put her on something that was not reliable and safe to ride. The chassis is the original race EDGE chassis. it is not bent or twisted or damaged. Please disregard the first post by Parts MN. I am up front and HONEST and the sled is still for sale!!

Thank you for looking!

Matt

ps BigRok, she said that she is not that interested, she is just not a fanatic like us here!

Matt. Any chance you may have a '99 chassis/motor? '99 was the first Edge race chassis. I had a few 2000 Edge race 440 chassis and if I am not mistaken you are advertising a '99 Edge 440 race chassis sled perhaps. If the rear suspension includes a rear coil over shock/spring combo its a '99. Either way a fun sled and a desired bottom end due to the stuffed crankcase arrangement as I am told. Also it appears to not be equipped with a timing knob/ves solinoids which appeared in 2000. The blue pan/hood and black tank could have easily been swapped. Good luck with what is likely a fine ride!

the above statement is correct. Those exhaust valves will not fit into 1998 cylinders. Your motor looks like it is a 1999-2000 EV440 motor with the solenoids removed. Count the bolts that mount the y pipe to the cylinders,,,if there are 8 total its a 1999-2000 motor. 1998 and 2001+ have 6 total.

this is a 2000 XC SP 440 motor I have installed in a pro-x

Yours looks the same
