Hopefully someone can help me. I have a 83 Polaris Cutlass SS 440. I am installing a new brake rotor and caliper assembly. I'm wondering if someone can give me a breakdown on how to do this?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not certain about that sled, but in order to change the brake rotor on my 97 XLT SP at least, you need to take the chain case off in order to get the rotor off. Its easy to get the chain case off, but a pain in the ass to get it back on! Patience is the word here.

As for the caliper assembly, there should be two bolts on top, one on the front and one on the rear. Take those out and the whole pitson/caliper assembly should lift right off. Hope this helps.

Help Please!!! I really need to know how to do this. I got the rotor off with a puller, but now I need to get everything back on, I can't figure out how to install the key which keep the rotor on the shaft.

Try asking on http://www.deadsledwrenchers.com/ if you dont get a answer here. I am also not familiar with the direct drive.
