So I stripped where the choke cable goes into the carb on my indy 400. I think the threads are too wrecked to just tap and dye. How much would it be to use a helicoil for it? Is it better just to buy a new carb? Or is there any other options of how to fix this carb?

I don't think they make a heli-coil with that fine of thread. May be time to find a used carb unless somebody else has a solution to fix it.

not much room on the carb for a helicoil....I would find a diff. carb body and install the cable correctly.

Is it possible to take the body apart, have the hole welded or something, drill then tap it? I think you best bet would be to pick up a used one on ebay though.
