So I have been working on my indy 400's. The 1988 is running good. The 86 has had the top end rebuilt and it has not been run yet. I could not get it to fire. I would pour gas into the cylinders and once in a while it would backfire and shoot flames out the y-pipe. I realized today (when I switched carbs because I screwed up the threads on the other one) that when I put together the carbs on the 86, I did install them wrong. I have the jet needle and e-ring ON TOP of of plate instead of under it. Would this cause the sled not to fire even with gas in the cylinders?!
