Carb removal

What is the best way to remove dual carbs that are linked together, from a 500 Yamaha? I want to clean the carbs and removal seems like a major job.

Rack mount carbs are a breeze to remove. You might have to remove the air box first but then you just loosen the clamps and the cables(throttle and choke) then remove them as a unit. Reverse the procedure to install. Then make sure the cables are adjusted evenly.
