i have the option to have carb warmers on or off when i bought the 99 srx from my friend they were off and the sled runs great what does the carb warmer do and would it increase proformance?

They're also good when your sucking alot of snow dust. Keeps the carbs from freezing

My DEaler and Mechanic said not to use them unless it drops to atleast 5 degrees. In warm weather it will boil the gass and used a lot more fuel when it is on at warmer weather..[:D]

I have them on my 2000 700 MM and I don't turn them on unless I start to get to carb ice, and it can happen for lots of reasons depending on the temp and how much trail dust your sucking. I have been told that they can also cut your hp by as much as 10% when there on.

I have only used it a couple of times mostly in sub 0 and very dry snow.
