I would just try a local automotive shop. I have a catalog here from my snowmobile distrubutor showing 1,2,4,5 gal sizes. I would think you should have something local you could pick up. How much were you needing to carry? Do you premix? You might want to carry oil too if you are out on the long hauls and don't have an injection system.

Based on your porfile I'm guessing your a cat rider.
I will check the brand name of the can I carry on the back of my sled tonight and let you know tommorrow.
It's a 2 1/2 and fits perfect in my cat rack.

Here is something that I have been thinking about doing to my Mountain Max. Most of the Iron dog racers have their seat cut down and build a gas tank, from 3 to 5 gal, with a small rack on top. It drains right into the main tank and is the first gas to be used, so it gets the weight off the ass end first.

If you would like some specs on how the do this just let me know.

I'd like to see that In Alaska. Does it go in the trunk space?

For gas? 2 Litres(quart) aren't gonna get you too far, that's for sure.

I have a seat that has been cut down with a rack and bags that I used when I ran the Iron Dog last year. When I get the pictures scanned I will post them.

There is a couple if pictures that kind of show the cut seat on this link.

For those unfamiliar, the TourBuddy is a remote gas tank that mounts on the belt guard and holds 2.3 gal.But its $ 150.00

Spaceman17,
Sorry for the delay in my response,
2 1/2 that fits perfect on A/C is made
by Essence. I pick mine up at a local
building supply.

Tour Buddies are nice but the $189 for a 2 1/2 gal gas can seems a little steep.
