Ive got an 2001 arctic cat z 440 sno pro. The clutches engage at around 3800 - 4000 rpm. Ive been told this machine should engage at 4600 rpm.

What do you think the problem is?

Thanks

most of them little 440's engaged right around the 5000 mark. where your exact model engages not sure. but 4000 is pretty low for a 440. chances are a new primary spring could help. if it is the stock spring just get a new one from cat.

if its low enough that it bogs down then you need to figure out why and get the engagement rpm up. if it doesn't bog on you don't worry about it

Thanks for very much guys for helping me with this. I changed the spring today. New spring seems stiffer than the old. Engagement is what is should be.

Thanks
