what do people mean by is your sled clutched or my sled is clutched. how to you clutch a sled?

i think your referring to your snowmobile as not having the original clutching, therefor changes have been made for better performance in one aspect or another.

Clutching your sled to suit your riding style. Changing your weights,springs and or helix to get the best performance out of your sled.

anything you can do without buying new parts?

About the only thing you can do is tighten up your secondary spring. Springs are cheap,around $30 at the dealer, find out what you have and look at a spring chart and go from there.
