I have some old Arctic Start 2 stroke oil that I was running in my 79 Eltigre when the Engine blew a hole through the piston on the Exhaust side. This oil is a thicker oil, 2 Stroke oil is now more of a runny consistency, could the thick oil be a problem contributing to the blown engine.

I doubt it. Lack of oil will cause the piston to seize and scuff and ruin crank bearings. Sounds like you just leaned out. Pto side? Maybe a bad crank seal or a clogged jet?

Is that a oil injected sled? When the first oil injected sleds came out, the oil was a lot thicker, so the first injection oil pumps were made to pump thicker oil. On the other hand, a little thicker oil wont matter if youre premixing on a 79, would prob actually be better.

Yep burning a hole in a piston isnt oil related. You leaned out and your motor got hot enough to burn a hole in a piston.
