Build up the ol' thumb muscle. Or just go to the bars all the time.

My thumb never gets tired, gone 12 hours once. Not a problem.

I was thinking of putting a watercraft finger throttle on my sled. I put that on every watercraft I have owned, it makes a world of difference for hanging on when jumping and hitting waves. I think it would be the same on a sled when jumping snow drifts.
