well I just got a used DG pipe for my indy trail today, gunna put it on in school tomarow and I was wondering what everyone thinks I will need to do for the jetting. I was told by the person who gave me the pipe that it would run okay with no jetting changes, but for the best performance he said to go up one size on the mains and put the needle up one notch. I am going to put it on and watch plug color, if it looks okay, I will run it, if not, I will pull it back off and wait till I get some jets. Anybody have any suggestions? also wondering if I have to take off the carbs to change jets, or if I can take out the drain plug on the bowl and access it from the bottom?

I would go up on the mains
with most single pipes your needle should be fine.
It's cheaper to foul a plug than rebuild a motor.

i have a DG pipe on my old indy trail. i think i went up one size and the needles are stock position. my 89 trail came with 230 mains from the factory, and at the most is has 250s now, but i think they're 240s.
