Hey all,

I just got back from the bank.
I paid off the rest of my credit line which this lovely machine was taking up.
I bought it before I could afford it...but I certainly don't regret the last few years of riding on a Royal Bank owned sled.
But now it's mine, and that's the sweetest sled to ride.

Having it paid off is definately a nice feeling.
That sure is a nice looking sled. The pic is making me want to ride really bad. been warm here lately and I am going crazy.
The enjoyment of riding will be even better know that its all yours.

Congradulations - my first sled was an Indy 500 great machine and very reliable. Unfortunatly I'm still paying off my new ride - two years left. $245/MO it kind of sucks having to keep paying it in the summer months.[xx(]

Thanks 2000TCMC & Tim,
I just want to encourage you guys out there sitting on the fence about buying your first sled, or one made in the last 10 years.
DO IT...credit is temporary, but to ride is to be free.
Life is way too short to sit at home with 2 feet of snow
sitting on the ground.
It's only money...you can always make more.
Skol,
Kev

One more thing, now that it's paid off I'd like to
add a few things for this year, other than the
1.25 Camoplast, and possibly EPI kit.
What colour belly pan would you put on this machine.
For me it's either blue or black.
I just put blue slides on, and am leaning towards that.
What do you all think?

hey congrats on your freshly owned sled. you hit the nail on the head..its only fun if its yours. i just bought one, its my 4th, but following a 73 colt 340, a 79 TX 340, and a 86 Indy 400, none exceeding $600, a REAL 19 year old budget, i feel pretty special...

Hey NotYer...
Thanks for the kudos.
What is your latest ride, some sort of 440 I presume.
Start a new topic in "my sled" with some pics of all of them...let's see.
OH...and welcome to TUSF..not just a catchy acronym..this is definitely the "Ultimate Forum" for sledheads.

i love riding/driving or just plain owning things, it always makes it alot better knowing that it is yours

IMO the toys should be paid in cash, if you cant afford it, u dont need it, i like to live by that and charge or finance as little as possible, again, just my point of view tho

Congrats man, that's gotta be a good feeling getting it paid for.

I took out a loan to buy this:

And I agree that it's not worth waiting, I was so happy when I got it.

I am also happy to say when I purchased this:

Hey Offshore,

I have a Purple Skid Plate that i think will fit your sled. I ordered it for my 95 XLT but it didnt fit, it was for the Next Year XLT i believe. I was too lazy to return it in time. I would be willing to give it to you, all you need to do is pay for shipping. I could take some pics, the instruction/parts bag isnt even open on the thing.

Well, the sled I just bought is a 1992 XCR 440 with a 500 motor out of a 98 XC. Only 800 miles on the motor! woot! I am lacking a digital camera at the moment, buts its the red and white hood, white cobra windshield, blue plastic skis, etc etc.

I'll try for pics sometime soon[:I]

Wow Pman, cash huh... that's awesome!

Sounds like a mover NotYer.... is that 500 engine the Liberty flatslide carbed one, or the Fiji 488 liquid?

Congrats!... always great to get rid of a debt! (wish my ex-wife would go away) hehehe,.. I agree with the "you can always make more,.. get it while you can" attitude,... prob for me is self employment and making sure everything is paid for. I gotta pay cash,.... but if i had a guarenteed income,.. hell yeah,.. life is too short to let deep pow untouched.

Hey Anchorman...thanks, I am self employed also, sucks trying to get credit.
I'm a photohrapher...

and digital cameras aren't cheap.

Q for all you Gen2 guys...

Is a Pure Polaris belly pan protector for Gen2 really worth the 100 or so CDN?

Does it do a good job of protecting the front suspension?

Does anybody have a pic of their Gen2 belly pan protector?
