The relay might be located where? I know the VR is under my left toe kick by the team secondary clutch side, still acclimating to this sled only bought it in November, 1500 miles for an '05 in excellent condition. This is the first issue I've had after putting another 1000 miles on her this season. The system will dim on acceleration but then pop right back to normal for a while almost like a bad ground? Or grounding out on something but I see no bare or cracks in the wiring.
