On the EFI Cats we have a connection that can be plugged in or unplugged for regular and ethanol fuel.

My question is, what is considered ethanol? 90/10 mix or E85?

I think they mean 10-20% ethanol. You would need major changes to run e85, it was never intended for that.

most places run E10 (10% ethanol), but MN, for example, will soon be 20%.

Honestly I would not change out the chip to an ethanol chip, its designed for if you are going to run anything higher than E10, but without it the ECU will just dump more fuel anyway. The whole idea is that with ethanol you need more fuel for the same ammount of energy, and it burns slightly hotter, which could give you a lean out problem. Just check your plugs every now and then and unless they are white, dont worry, ride happy.

oh, that Ethanol chip will run you about 50 bucks.
