Ok just from what you wrote i'm guessing the sled needs Crank Seals? Does that sound more like what the guy said?? If you do there not to hard to do with some help and know how but you will need a full gasket kit and an afternoon to do this, crank seals themselves are about 10-12 bucks a peice so not that much it just takes time to pull the motor and tear it down let us know if we can help ya and welcome to the site!

you can take just the bottom of the crank case off and replace the carnk seals with out tearing down the whole motor. thats probably his best bet as it sounds like he would be in some trouble if he took the whole motor apart and had to replace all the gaskets.
