Hi, my clutch on my 1996 EXT 580 is wrecked. The bushing wore out of the weights and wore the spider out and the spring broke. I found a used clutch off a 1998 XC 600 guessing its a P-85. The guy said i could have it for 50 bucks if i went and took it off. Would this clutch work for me? What all would i have to change other than spring and weight? please help, thanks
im telling you.... you should of bought a arctic cat 9 tower.... far supperior to the 6 tower comet.... you can usually get them used on ebay for like 150 bucks
so turns out my clutch was NOT ordered, i was told it was. So is the nine tower arctic cat clutch got 9 bolts on the front cover? cause if it does than thats what my sled had on it, it was not the same clutch as my dads ext 580, same year, he has a comet 108 for some reason
yes the arctic cat 9 post clutch has 9 bolts on the front plate, hence 9 towers that bolts go into, its stronger, and has bigger rollers for smoother shifts. Here is one for an example:
I thought so, was not sure tho, my sled had a 9 tower on it, but it is NFG, well i could rebuild it but would be nearly 350 bucks when i can get a brand new calibrated 102c for 400...
cause its brand new haha but found out today comet went outta business and 102 is no longer available, so i got two options, rebuild my 9 tower, or find a good used one... i think rebuild would be better, that way its new pretty much
