It was released today!

Maximumsled says:

"the 599cc F6 offers an incredible 118-120 horsepower. It gets 46mm throttle bodies"

Incredible 118 to 120 HP? From what I've read, Polaris' 600 twin was dishing out that kind of HP last year with carbs. AC is also known for being a bit "off" with their stats. Remember their claim to the F7's weight, and what it actually ended up being? I dunno if this is the case or not, but I know this machine should be an impressive addition to the already awesome sleds on the snow. (I just hope mine can beat it [;)])

That's all I'm gonna say for fear of insulting someone, and being attacked for bashing. Although that will probably happen anyway.

I believe there were many changes from the pre production to the production Firecat that affected the weight. Cat was still off but thats important to mention.

I have a 1996 ZRT 600, and it had 124 HP completely stock, but now it has close to 130 HP.

Per Artic Cat site:

2001 ZRT 600 - 120hp
2002 ZRT 600 - 120hp
2003 ZRT 600 - see ya!

must of been detuned from earlier models, usually thou, you see hp numbers go up from prior models. I bet you see F7 hp numbers go down next year as well.

1997 XLTsp - 97hp

No wonder I'm getting smoked by 500's nowadays

Ah, I just realized those sleds came with triple pipes also. That would explain the increase in HP. But yes, a single pipe will yield around 100 HP. Compare that to the 118 HP of todays same displacement engines. I myself would say that is an improvement.

P-man, I got that information from DynoTech, and they are very accurate, they said with the mods on my sled I should have between 125 to 128HP.
