some guys use belt dressing, A sled mechanic i know says to wash it in dawn dish soap and scrub the sides where the belt makes contact with the clutch sheaves. I ususally just short hop around the yard or a nearby field for a bit befor i go WOT. Im sure there are other break in ideas too.

I just wash it with a stiff brush and dish soap on the sides of the belt. Then take it easy on it for about 25 miles then give it hell.
Thats what i do.

dont think it matters. the key is to get rid of the oily contaminates from the manufacturing process to eliminate slippage.
