I have an 89 Yamaha Ovation 340 fan. It literally eats plugs. I am constantly replacing fouled plugs. I have had it to 2 dealerships, one coudn't find anything and the other suggested I use br8's instead of the manufacturer's spec br9's. Any idea's? I burn premium (91 octane) and use regular injection oil.

try 87 instead, unless you have ahigh compression head or something, all high octane does is retard the burn of the fuel, maby not all the fuell is being burnt and thats what could cause the plugs to foul, also maby its runing too rich.

Thanks Gents. That makes sense. It seems to me the problem amplified itself when I swithed to 91 octane. I was told higher octane might help the problem. however it may have worsened it.
