i need to adjust the front fox shocks on my 96 ultra, does anyone have an idea what i need to do so. i tried turning the spring like on my 2002 xc 500 but it doesn't do anything. the shocks are obviously older and were on the machine when i bought it. i have no clue, help!

A buddy of mine used to adjust the stock shocks on his Storm with a tool that fit on the bottom collar. He just put Fox shocks on and claims they are not adjustable now.

I think those are the non-threaded ones...instead they have many grooved rings and are a pain to adjust. someone else will know for sure

You probably need a spanner wrench. Or you can tap the notched nut around with a hammer and a punch. There should be two of them, one acts as a lock.
