1998 polaris indy 500,

sled had a funny clicking noise when i went about 50 and went along with the engine, the faster i went the faster the clicking was ,
took the sled out on a lake and opened it up for a couple min, maxed it out back and forth like 8 times, and engine cut out, and stalled, changed plugs, thought they were fouled, started it up tried to move , it stalled and was backfiring, once i got it going, that ticking noise was really bad, from start to stop constantly clicking, then i had the throttle to the bar for a good 5 miles on one seasonal road, and all the noises and ruff engine stopped
and it runs 100% not a single noise, no clicking no backfiring nothing, what could this have been????
it stopped when i was doing about 70-75 just went away?

I'm not sure, Your float could have been stuck open, and thats why it was backfiring, and the speed losened it up and it fell back down, but that would really explain the noise... Thats a tough one...I would have also said to check your belt...
