yup what he said, i always do this adjustment with the cover off to see where its at just to be super safe. You basically want to run it as loose as possible without it touching the case, usually finger tight and back off 1/4 is good. Make certain the jam nut is TIGHT after doing this.
Get this i buy my sled over the summer and only tried the thing a few times on the grass. Well a couple weeks ago we finaly get snow so, well enough to ride on the flat railroad bed. i get ridding and notice the chain is jumping in the chain case. so i baby it to my friends house about 2 miles away. i take it all apart to find that the idler wheel had went bad and wore a hole in the chain case cover! WTF why i dont understand
