Even if I'm down to 1/2 tank or less. It's on straight and the threads do not look damaged at all. It does look like a shallow cap compared to the height of the neck on the tank though. Can't tell if it is "gasket free" by design, or if the previous owner lost it? This was my first weekend with the sled, and I need to solve this one asap! Suggestions?

i had a 92 xcr 440 and the same thing happened to me, except there was a crack that you couldnt see up by the cap, turns out there was a recall on it, so i got it replaced for free

Does it leak from the threads or the 'vent'? If it leaks from the threads, the vent could be plugged. If it leaks from the vent...new cap time.

Leaked from the threads. Turns out the gasket was was damaged. New cap was about $24 US and hopefully that took care of it.
