has anyone swapped a 144" edge skid from an SKS into a gen2? i read that it is uncoupled, how does it ride on trails? does it mount in the same location as a 121 edge? how does it corner? (i'm thinking the xtra10 with tip-up extensions may be better in this department?) my reasons for wanting to go with a longer track are to be able to go off trail more than i'm able to now, but without sacrificing too much when on-trail, and to help smooth out the bumps when the trails get rough. thanks in advance for any input!

I did the whole 121 to 144 rail extensions, they bent when I hit a berm doing just over 80mph on the gps.

the edge skid will ride FAR better then a stretched extra-10.

I sure do like how those gen2's look when stretched, heres my old sled.

This gives you an idea of how long the rail extrensions were

I did 121-144 on my 99 xc700, but I used tracksusa extensions and so far so good, they lock into the rear of the rail and its almost like its one piece. I would however like to use an edge skid, but I ran short on $$ when I did mine. It does ride better and goes through the deeper stuff much better.
