Whats going on?
I'll either need to get my shocks rebuilt or buy used. Do you guys know any good shock re-builders? Any idea what it might cost for 2 Ryde FX fronts & one rear Fox clicker? It'll probably be about the same as buying good used ones but I'm on a budget for this project so every dollar saved helps.Thanks.

Check with your locals, clubs, etc for rebuilding of your shocks, shipping charges would be huge going out/in from Alaska say from UPS/Fed-X.

IMO your best bet is to rebuild yours. You can go buy some used shocks but you may end up having to rebuild those too after a few miles.

all info (costs) on site.

Rebuild your currents, Ryde-FX and Fox clickers are the best clicker shocks on the market. Walker Evans suck.

The only local anything we have here for repair is NAPA (yeah I said NAPA, they sell Polaris & repair) but those guys are a joke & way over priced. Sucks being in a remote Alaskan village with 5,500 other people. For some perspective a gallon of milk cost $10 up here.

I hear you about buying used, that's what I worry about. Is there anywhere I can get a how to on rebuilding?

Awesome, I'll check it out here in a minute. My idea was to buy some stock shocks & put them on my 700 & take the Walker Evan clickers (700 will be for sale after 800 is ready). Would you go with stock/Ryde FX(non-clickers) over Walker Evans?

Polaris1Man does shocks, and I talked on the phone with him earlier about why he shyed away, because he has done stuff for me, and I can't say enough about what a great job he has done for me. He told me it's the shipping costs that kill it.

700 jetting/clutching:

run 420 main jets for sea level and it wakes up the power and pulls the clutching well.

It is also geared pretty tall stock at 25/41 and it likes shorter gearing.
I ran a bunch of different combos and 23/40 was very good for trail riding.
10-64 weights in the primary and a red almond engagement spring.

Holzmann Tempa-Flow/ATACC(almost same thing) info/review:

Well maybe if his prices are good & the shipping's not too crazy it may be worth it if he's good. How can I get in touch with him?

Especially when you live at the furthest north inhabited village in the US. I'm not saying Polaris1Man would screw me but when people find out where I am additional shipping fees are usually tacked on & I end up getting into a war over a few bucks. Maybe they just assume it'll cost more & pocket the cash after. BS regardless.

Thats funny because I have been weighing my options about twins because I'm on a budget for this one but the whole reason I want to upgrade is to get that top speed. I replied, we'll see what he says.

Yeh I can't even imagine living that far out, but as far as shipping to say P1Man, you would already know what it cost to ship one way. Simple math, lets say you send the shock for $40.00, shock rebuild $35.00 plus the $40.00 to send back, and at a $115.00 a shock is it worth it to you. I guess I don't really know how you figure you would get hosed on the shipping.

Yeah it wouldn't be worth it. All I was saying is that in my experience with ordering online/phone (assuming its not a large corporation) I usually get screwed. Roughly I know what things will cost (16 years of ordering online or by phone, you get good at guessing) but sometimes I dont know until
i receive it & normally the price paid is more than actual. Oh well, it is what it is.
