well i got bored and took my zrt out in the field today and i noticed anti-freeze leaking out of the rear heat exchanger! well i took it off and has anybody had any luck having them welded? its just a hairline crack on the side so it looks like it would be easy to fix i just dont know if it will hold (the weld)

I would suggest taking a 1/8" drill bit and drilling center of the crack to determine if there is enough material to weld if you have a 1/16" ort more then the area could be repaired. I would hope that this would be the case. If you were in the area I would do it for you no charge, but you are a bit far.

Yes i have known many people that have had theres welded. It seems to be a common problem on the 97-98 models. The rear bumper puts alot of stress on the cooler, so don't reef the rear end around any more than you have to. I would TIG it if it's available.
