I know there have been topics in the past about these but I just can not find the right answers. I here that if u buy a cheap camera u get bad quality footage, is this true? Do u need to have a video camera to plug it in to or would it be better to get one that does it all. How strong are helmet cams? I have heard good things about gopro HD cams has anybody ever used one before? I think I would like to get an HD cam which is the best helmet camera. I would also like to know has anybody ever mounted one of these cams to the handlebars of your sled? Also I would like to see some videos off helmet cams in action. and would like to see how you have them mounted to your helmet.

i have an ATC5k made by oregon scientific, its not the best camera around, but it does the job. i think it cost $175 or so. the only things i dont like about it is its size and the way it adjusts for the lighting is a little slow and engine vibrations tend to make the video "wave" a bit
heres some videos i took with it.

Check out these videos I found recently. On one of the first in the list the poster mentions using a ContourHD 1080p cam.

I was wondering the same thing and i did a lot of research and I eventually bought the gopro motorsports HD. It is amazing! It comes with these sticky plastick things that you can stick on anything like you helmet, hood, basicly anywhere you want and then it just clips right in. Here is a pretty bad video i took in the wrong setting but it still came out pretty good. It wasnt mounted right either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnK0B5BYU4M

Here is a video i always liked made by using it (not me)

I am kind of worried about those stick things Are they hard to take off because I was thinking of just mounting one to a helmet

i have taken a few off of my helmet they are pretty hard to get off but it is do able. Im sure if you take some goo gone or something like that they will come off easier. I have 2 different ones on my helmet and they work great.

Agreed...it is a great camera and easy to use.

That is pretty low quality to do to my poor connection and not wanting it to take forever to upload to the web.

I have a VHOLDR ContourHD as well and I love it so far. Didnt get it until after the season was over so I have no footage but the test vidoes I have done look very good. Like said above it is very easy to use and comes with two mounting options. I prefer the goggle strap myself, and there are many accessories for it. Price is right too. My opinion its the best one on the market for the price.
