I received a 1973 arctic cat cheetah With a TA440A Kawasaki engine that I believe is a john deere engine. I need to rewire this thing and i am confused about What wires go where. The guyu who had it before me has a son who completely butchered the wiring trying to get spark. when I say Butchered I mean he really cut them all up.

The engine ran at one time this past summer but instead of pulling my hair out trying to figure this out i thought which wiring harness do I need? A JD main Harness Or a Arctic Cat Harness ? Is there a difference?

should I Start From Scratch and make my own? this would be my first Rescue mission before i decide to trash it all.

I would go with the harness that goes with the sled, becuase it willmatch the rest of the sled and you will only have to match up the main coming from the motor if it doeesn't work.
