After you do a hill climb when coming down I was wondering if it was bad for the motor to just let it go down or if it would be better to ride the brake.

give it some gas so the motor and clutch engage together and helps slow you down doesnt hurt either way what you do

Letting the engine assist with braking does not hurt anything.

It's essentially the same thing as down shifting in a vehicle with manual transmission. Doesn't hurt anything.

I go down the hills as fast as my sled will take me, it's a rush! When I want to side hill I use my counter steering sidehill skis

You clearly don't climb in the trees.
A lot of what we climb is just plain scary to go back down. Very fun though.
Fact is, a lot of the hills are so steep that you can't see where you are going to end up, or into what.

I was kidding Darin, some stuff that we come down you can probably classify by a pucker factor.
