Hi there. I am in the process of putting a new hood on my MXZ. After carefully skinning out the inside foam strips from my old smashed hood,I am
wondering if I should glue these dirty smelly strips of sponge into my nice clean new hood. I am just wondering if they have any real merit being in there, other than just soaking up pounds of water? Would you put them in or leave them out?

matt is correct in saying that its primary purpose is to keep noise down. But if the foam near the exaust pipe is foil covered, that is there to keep the extreme high temp away from the meltable hood.

Polaris is my way out - Other people just use a door.
