Hi guys,

I'm a new arctic cat owner ('94 EXT 580) I can't figure out how to remove the primairy clutch. I removed the cap with an allen wrench, and removed the long 12-point retaining bolt, but the clutch won't come off. I assume i need some type of special tool, is this correct? where do i get this tool?

the reason i am asking is that i have access to a Land & Sea dyno, and i want to dyno my sled, but it requires that i remove the clutch first.

You need a special puller. It threads into the end of the crank and then you tighten it up and tap it with a hammer and the clutch will pop right off. The pullers are usually under $30. I think you can find one on dennis kirk's web site.

You'll also need something to hold the clutch to keep it from turning when you tighten up the puller. They make special tools for this as well. But I've had really good luck with a heavy duty strap wrench.
