Does a 1996 Ultra have a Hyvo chain???

Reason being.... I found a good deal on a Reverse kit... for a 98 Ultra... and it says "for '98 standard Indy snowmobiles with Hyvo chain"

Ever since I put on 8 tooth drivers last year when I stretched the track out I've been meaning to get a new bottom sprocket to change the gearing to what it was with 9 tooth drivers.... So What I'm getting at is If I don't have a Hyvo chain... can I put one on my sled if I get a new bottom sprocket???

Thanks!!

I am almost positive in 97 everything had Hyvo chains and sprockets. maybe before that they used them in higher horsepower sleds like yours.(i am only guessing) I would check with a dealer. I know that the hyvo gears are wider and the splines on the shafts may be different and might not fit with the cover on. I am pretty sure that the hyvo chain is 3/4 wide. Otherwise count the number of links across the chain, it will be a number like 15,13 that will give you the type of chain and sprockets.
