6 feet of snow out there right now. Killer base, avalanche danger is way lower than normal this time of year, 1 to 2 feet of powder on top and a blue bird day...I think I should go sell the sled so I can go eat cheetos and watch more porn.

And the Video

those cats dont climb trees!

looks like some awesome fun. great visibility, no major worries of setting off a slide, selling the sled for a lifetime supply of cheetos and online porn subscriptions is a horrible idea. those other guys need all the bandwith they can get.

how far of a venture from your driveway is that? elevation? 6-7k?

The problem with avalanches now, is the danger is down, but they are just going to be that much worse when they do happen.

It is about 65-70 miles from my driveway and the parking lot is at 7200 or so. All of my riding is done between 8 and 10,000 ft, Typicaly we hang out between 9 and 10 though. Highest we got that day was 9200 feet.

you run an altimeter on your sled?

i attended my first avalanche safety course the other week. damn sure will change anybodys idea on how responsible you need to be playing out there. i heard most of the west at decent elevations its all a good snow pack so far.

Newer cats have one that in the console...never use it. I just went and looked at my GPS track though.

i see i see. just curious what kind of GPS are you using? i was researching for my dad for him to buy one and was looking at the DeLorme with the spot navigator deal. but the guy who instructed the avalanche class said mehh... they dont have the maps dialed in that well. like the contour is off.

he recommended the Garmin gx 450? or something 450.

BRAGGER!!!!!

We had 3-4' feet of powder in areas here a couple weeks ago, I got to play a little with it before it settled and melted. I discovered that the ole SKS needs deeper lug than 1.25 for the deep pow, and that I needed to be more fit to play in it as well..

Nice pics!!

Actually that day it would have done just fine. It is all about ability and knowing your sled. Granted you wouldn't be able to follow where the 162" M8 goes but you still could have tore it up.
