I just bought a used 96 indy 500.
Runs great until she gets warmed up then she bogs.

I read here that there may be a pilot jet problem. So I cleaned the carbs and installed new jets, changed fuel filter and plugs as well.

Still bogs - no low end power.

I would be thankful for Any ideas!

I would make sure your belt is 1/16th of an inch high in the secondary, can adjust dial by moving it towards the #1 position. I would also check the air box, critters love to build nests in them.

still bigs -- ha! I must have had too much carb cleaner.

The left plug looked good, dry, tan. Rt. plug was wet and a bit darker.

As for the air box it was oily inside, even one day after I cleaned it out. looked like oil was running out of the carb ports that vent the bowls.

Thanks for your help.

I'll check the clutch - but I think it is okay. The sled will run just fine for about 45mins or more if it is real cold outside.
