I have a 86 Polaris Indy 600 with about 8000 miles. The bushing and bushing retainer slid out of the clutch. It also has some small cracks so i decided it was time for a new clutch. I found one at a snowmobile junkyard that i thought would fit. I turns out it doesn't, and i think my engine shaft is too short because the new clutch pushes all the way up to the engine. I was wondering if anyone knew what years of clutches would interchange with a 86 Polaris Indy 600 LE or how to get the spyder nut off so i could switch the main clutch shaft. Also, is there a easier way to tell if a clutch would fit without pulling it off the sled at the junk yard? Finally, what would make a belt explode or the clutch to start cracking in the first place? Is that a sign the clutches are not aligned? If anyone knows anything about this please let me know.

Here's the p/n you need; 1321464 substituted by 1321546
Fits 85-86 trail, 400, 600.
You cant just change up parts in these clutches and have them in balance. Spyder yes, but not the moveable/fixed sheaves. Many things will cause a belt to blow; but usually it's due to heat and stress. Alignment is one, hour glassing, improper center distance, broken engine mount, improper clutching, etc.
They should be able to get you a clutch that works, if not then go somewhere else. try these guys if you cant find something.

thanks, I might try them. Also, do you know if any snowmobiles use this same clutch, or was it only used for the 86?
