I have to put new seals in my rotax 503 and i want to know if you can just slip the new inner seals over the rod or do you have to split the crank? the inner seals are like o-rings right..so i should be able to strech them because i know splitting a crank is expensive.

You have to split the crank

Best solution to your problem is to take the crank to a doo dealer, exchange it for a rebuild from ski-doo, about the same $$ as if you were to get the crank split
You get a fully rebuilt crank and warenty
