Does everyone have their sled ready for the snow?
I have some more yellow accessories and handlebar hooks to put on mine still.
It will be ready when the snow flies.

Powder Girl, welcome. I'm glad to see you are picking up a nice quality sled to show the guys around here whats up. Is there snow out there in Idaho yet? If so, send some to New England. The sleds are waiting...

I think a new sled needs to be checked over more closely than a used one. I wont say what dealer set up mine. Look for loose parts, extra parts, and check suspension settings and tightness. Just a few of the wonderfull things I found.

Ha ha, I was riding today. My friend had his new EDGE X 600 and another had a ZR 500. The primary clutch fell off on the ZR when we were riding!! lol Bolt broke!

hi all. exjake, fuel stabalizer is great but not perfect, I cant wait till i burn the firt tank to get fresh in. I just dont think it runs right with the stabalizer. just my oponion. The NE needs snow now. Safe riding to all who can, wish icould.
I agree with backmtn regarding the first tank with stabil. Has anyone tried octane boost in this first gas/stabil tank?
PA eh? You also get to wait a while huh? Up here in NH and MA, we're waiting with you. See you on the trails...

It is ok to run in the summer as long as you allow the exhaust to heat up sufficiently to remove the condensation in the exhaust chamber.
I plug the Exhaust pipe with a plumbers drain pipe plug to keep the mice out.
Another hint when useing mothballs place them in sandwich bags makes easy to remove them in the Fall.
Allways spray the piss out of everything with W/D 40 mice don't like it moisture don't either and it is cheap.

it needs a track.... right now im recovering the seat... lowering windshield, new stickers, touch up paint on skis after sandblasting, rebuilding shocks, andnew front bumper.... its all fun! lol i cant wait... first sled with a suspension! i love mechanical things and when i can do something or rebuild it i cant stop!

Duct tape much like the force... it has a light side, a dark side.... and it holds the world together!
I think it is great you have so much ambition to rebuild an older sled. I can remeber those days. I would work hours to ride for two then do some more tuneing or welding.

I always get that itch to fix stuff too. If i'm working on my sled, i'll always find something else that needs to be done.

I've got an itch to go riding.
I get the itch too. Just now I am more into waxing, cleaning, and small stuff like a belt check torques replace a snow flap.

my '86 Phazer is all ready to go (its pretty hot for an older sled)

BOW DOWN TO THE KING OF SPEED
One more coat of wax on the black hood and mine will be redy to fly.

have'nt even looked at mine yet, but it's a Polaris so I know I won't have to do anything to it. HA HA HA.
she's ready to go....even had to put some gas in so she would make it to the station so i could ride...pisses a guy off when u buy a sled on empty and find out there is no gas around...

Think Snow...hell...might as well think lots of snow!
- Stud three sleds: Blade striker 700, mxz 500, and Grand Touring 600
- Gearing down the 600 (the 1.25'' paddles slowed down the top end speed).
- grease the 600 and check all the bolts (learned that lesson the hard way last year when the suspension blew apart - thats why I got the M-10)
- carbide guides on the 4 place trailer
- purchase and install a tow hitch on the new (1997) Montero Sport.

I'm going riding in three weeks. I guess I should get going!

I want to ride every day, all day, as fast as I can.
