well i heard jackshaft bearings are a pain in the a**.... my girlfriends dads sled and her aunts xc 600 feel off the trailer two years ago and the speedos stopped working..... they never looked at them just thought the cable broke...so i got going over the sleds this year and me and a buddy find out they are junk...was told they are a time consuming project....her 60 year old aunt and 28 year old brother did them both in 35 mins....i didnt believe it after all i had heard about them....so why were people telling me that they were such a hard thing to fix?

Kind of depends on your skill level, and your shop/ tools. Not a bad job though. I can't speak for other makes, but my polaris gets greased after every long ride. On the polaris, if your speedo quits working, grab the driveshaft and give it a shake, you might need bearings. Mark
