well i just bought my first sled at age 45..
i have several issues figured out but this one has me hung up.

the thumb warmer is very hot when engine runs and the switch is in the off pos.. if i turn the switch to on the head ligt goes out. the switch checks out ok on its own. could the wires be plugged in wrong into the harness..? the harness has a dual plug the hooks up to the kill switch and the thumb warmer. the single plug on the harness is hooked to the thumb warmer switch.

could it be the voltage reg?
should i track the harness for shorts or bare wires? looks very fine for all place i can see so far.

a wiring diagram would help a bunch

thanks in advance

without knowing what year you have, see if this helps you out.

or go here and look through all the different diagrams to find one close to yours.

Do you know what brand warmer it is? Make sure it is wired correctly and replace regulator. I worked on two sleds this winter that had the same problem, and the main thing was a bad regulator. Maybe replace the switch too.

hey dude. that happened to my 93 jag after my crash and what i did to fix it is. start the sled with hand and thumb warmers off and let the engine get warm and drive it around a little and then flip on the hand and thumb warmers and they should work and so should your light. if they dont it could be the voltage regulator
